As a private, for-profit educational institution, the mission of the College for Financial Planning® is to provide accessible and flexible degree, non-degree, and continuing professional education programs to our students. Our philosophy of professional education emphasizes the relationship between theory and practice in providing students with the conceptual foundations and practical skills necessary to adapt to changes in societal needs and keep pace with the evolving fields of finance and financial services. Our typical student will offer, on a personal or corporate level, financial counseling and related services, or implement financial recommendations pertaining to investments, insurance, retirement, tax, and/or estate planning.
The College provides learning opportunities to people in all geographic areas through comprehensive programs of study that lead to licensing or certification through individual courses; through graduate-level study in the areas of financial planning, financial analysis, and finance, leading to the award of a master’s degree; and through continuing professional development. Learning methods include independent study, blended and mentored study, and classroom instruction conducted by independent classroom providers, as well as seminars, workshops, and conferences.
The College for Financial Planning, Inc. (the degree-granting arm of the College) is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association (NCA), 30 North LaSalle Street, Suite 2400, Chicago, IL 60602-2504.
