The College for Financial Planning provides college-level distance education for adults in both self-study and instructor-led formats. The courses are designed based on the skills and knowledge necessary for competent practice. Measurable learning objectives have been developed, classified (according to cognitive level), and incorporated into the study materials to foster mastery of them.
Students are encouraged to contact faculty members to discuss concepts and principles.
The College currently implements its learning model by providing study materials, Web-based resources, and other materials. After completing the required readings, students are directed to answer review questions and compare your answers to the sample answers provided. This is a crucial step in the learning process, and helps determine mastery of the learning objectives, since final exams are graded on a criterion-referenced basis without reference to performance by other students.
The student also receives formal feedback about performance when examinations prepared by College faculty are completed.
