If you are a graduate of the College for Financial Planning's Accredited Asset Management Specialist, or AAMS, Professional Education Program, send an e-mail or call the Enrollment Center at 800-237-9990, option 3. You cannot enroll in the AWMA program until your status as an AAMS graduate is verified.
Enrollees on track to receive the Accredited Wealth Management Advisor designation will gain advanced, yet practical knowledge about these critical aspects of the financial services industry: asset management, allocation, and selection; investment performance and strategies; and taxation of investment products. The course also includes training in investment for retirement, strategies for small business owners, and the management of deferred compensation plans. In addition, instruction will cover insurance, estate planning, asset protection, and tax reduction issues.
The College for Financial Planning awards the AWMA designation to students who complete the program, pass the final examination, and sign a code of ethics commitment and declaration form. Successful students receive a certificate and are granted the right to use the designation on correspondence and business cards.
Many of the College's programs and courses qualify for continuing education credit hours, which are required by organizations such as the CFP Board, state boards of accountancy, individual state insurance departments, and the PACE program. The individual sections of each program, and the program itself, can help meet the firm element of the securities industry’s (and therefore, each company’s) CE requirements. Individual state Boards of accountancy establish the CPE requirements for each individual state. If you are a CPA who will be submitting CPE from taking the Colleges courses, you will need to make sure that the courses meet your respected state board requirements and report them to your state board. Please do not submit credits to NASBA. See details in the Continuing Education Table.
“I would recommend this program to anyone who wants to take their practice to the next level in professionalism and income level. Because of my AWMA designation, I am now working with higher net worth individuals, which allows me to offer top notch service to fewer clients while substantially increasing my income.“
Paul C. Ragone, AAMS®, AWMA(SM)US Planning Group, Inc.
